Not Quite Human is finished. I had an absolute blast writing it, and I'm hard at work on all the marketing stuff now. The next book in the series will be called "The Night Shift," and I'm about a quarter of the way through writing it. My goal (go ahead, laugh; it's okay) is to release The Night Shift by January 1st. It's do-able. Really, it is.

In other news, we recorded the narration for the prequel novella, Tales of Blood and Eternity for Audible...and while we had a blast recording it, once I got down to the nitty gritty of editing it? Oh, my. Maybe it should've been called Tales of Blood and NOISE.

It was the dead of summer when we recorded it, and 90+ degrees outside. We could still hear the A/C. That, I could've corrected for. What was the clencher that killed it is the dude that lives across the street from me. He has a tractor trailer, which he parks in his driveway. We didn't realize, but the rumble-rumble-rumble of that d*** thing sitting there and idling throughout a good chunk of the narration made us rethink recording until the weather changes, and record in my sister Missy's bar area in her basement (which is less noisy, and will eventually be our set) OR rent someplace where we have a little more control over what's heard. We also got a better mic...so we'll see where THAT goes. :) We're working with someone we know to have a male voice talent read along with Missy; more on that in an upcoming post!

We'll be re-recording Not Quite Human's narration sometime this fall, after it's released in print and ebook. Watch this space for more info! It'll be available on Amazon, and other places. I was pleasantly surprised to find that all my books are on Barnes and Noble's website, too!
